Let’s all thank Gabrielle Chanel (aka Coco) for introducing the ‘Lady-pants’. I can’t help to start smiling every time I read or see that part of her biography. She was so determined about her vision that eventually she knew great success. But it surly was a rocky road.

Since then trousers are a must in every women’s closet. And while we automatically would chose for a nice pair of jeans, you have to know that there are a lot of other options. I have to admit it isn’t easy, but you really have to try it out. Before I start to convince you I must say: you have to know the difference between a nice printed pair of trousers and a pair of pyjama pants. The line may be thin, BUT there still is a line! So think wisely before you buy the Aztec printed legging.

For the one who dares...: Etro

Now that has been cleared out we can continue with the real work. I think a pair of trousers with a bit of a manly fit can make a woman so feminine. I know it is a contradiction, but it’s true. What’s the point of constantly wearing skinny high-wasted jeans? Let’s give your legs some air! It may ask a bit of time to get used to, but you can take baby steps. When you feel comfortable with a slightly more tailored pair you can add the print. I am personally fond of geometric prints.

Nice cut, no print needed: H&M

I think they create an organised chaos what makes it super cool. Be aware of flower prints, especially in a variety of colours. It can be either a total success or a total disaster. You don’t want to be that girl with the crazy flower pants. And if you chose flowers don’t be experimental with your top, keep the rest simple and clean. If you go crazy with the print, don't go (to) crazy with the colours.

I can't stop thinking of chinese tableware: Eggs

I have chosen eight pair of printed or slightly different trousers, appropriate for every budget. I hope you like them and it will let you consider to dump a few of your ordinary pair of jeans. So there is only one question left to ask: are you a follower or not? I am, but it has to be a killer pair of printed trousers. Let me know what you think of this trend and if you are a follower or not…
