The jewellery battle

People often forget how important jewellery is for your outfit. It really makes or breaks it. Just as in fashion it has trends and hypes. But some pieces are timeless and worth the investment. All the jewellery you wear says something about your personal style and your actual personality. An introvert girl won’t wear the exact same jewellery as an extravagant fashionista. I have listed a few old trends below. Next to each trend I have placed what has replaced it.

Trend 1: Large bracelet cuff vs. Arm candy

A few years ago it was all about the wide bracelet cuff. Most likely made out of a gold material with some diamonds on it. Well made and combined it was a beautiful piece. But know it’s all about the arm candy. This is something I really like and also do myself. You can combine and choose the size you want over and over again. Try to choose one colour for the chains: gold or silver. You can combine gold and silver but it’s hard to make it look good.

Trend 2: A statement necklace vs. Little necklace

The last seasons necklaces just got bigger and bigger. I think some fashion girls struggled with their necks and suffered under the heavy weight. The sizes wear totally out of proportion for me and it just looked too chunky. I prefer the trend that is going on now: little necklaces. They are simple, feminine and make you look fancy in a snap. It may be fun to combine several ones with different lengths, for a special touch.

Trend 3: Matching earrings vs. Contrasting earrings

The time of buying a set of earrings and necklace that match is over. It’s way more fun to put a little contrast in your accessories. It’s nice to have a little hint that’s the same, but the whole thing is too much. So try to separate your sets and combine them with other pieces. You don’t have to buy new things; you can do more with the things you have than you think.

So which trends do you follow? That's my question...

Sincerely
