So this is my third article in the trend series for A/W ‘15-’16. It’s really strange, but I haven’t really talked about shoes yet.

Left to right, top to bottom: DL sport, Calpierre, Burberry, Park Lane, Michael Kors, Pertini, Fred Perry, Paul Green, Nike
However I really adore shoes! So when I was going trough the magazines, I noticed how much sneakers there were. The last few years they seem to be growing in trees, because they are literally everywhere. For summer it isn’t that big of a surprise, but it’s quite new in winter. The difference is that they are a bit more ‘chunky’ and masculine.

I really like the fact that you can see a lot of sneakers this season, they are ooh so comfortable, but I do think it’s a shame that you can’t find a lot of high boots. Winter and high boots are synonyms to me, but this season it’s all about the sneaker or an ankle boot.
Seems a bit boring, don’t you think? But that isn’t the case at all; in fact the variety is absolutely amazing! I can’t believe how many sorts they can come up with. You can choose different colours, heights, structures (smooth, snake skin, ruff…) and materials.

I quite like sneakers with a platform heel, because they make you look taller in a subtle way. I don’t like it when they start to become too chunky, like ‘Doctor Martens’. It can end up a bit to masculine, especially when your shoe size is already quite big.
For me shoes always have to be elegant, but that doesn’t mean boring. Brogues are also huge and the fact that they have laces you can count them as a sneaker. So go ahead and go on a hunt for your perfect sneaker/shoe with laces.
So are you a chunky sneaker follower or not? Let me know in the comments below…
