Hi everyone! Today I have yet another article in my trend series for A/W ’15-’16. This time it’s all about the shirtdress. You could say that it’s just a longer version of a shirt. But believe me; it’s far more than that.

Shirt dresses

Long sleeved, black dress: Polo Ralp Lauren; via Stylebop

Trench coat dress: Rag&Bone; via Farfetch

Blue dress with tie: Topshop

Denim dress: ASOS

Red check dress: River Island, via ASOS

Orange check dress: VILA, via ASOS

Dark grey short leeved dress: MSGM, via Farfetch

It’s not the most innovating and original garment of the season, but I still like it a lot. I feel like you can do a lot of different things with it when it comes to styling. You can make it casual, edgy, sophisticated, preppy or work appropriate. To me it’s one of those throw-on garments in your closet that always look good.

I prefer the denim and check shirtdresses, with a small belt or tie at the waist. The little belt highlights your waist and makes sure you don’t look to ‘boxy’. The variety of choices is endless this season; you can find them everywhere, for every budget.

If you go for one with a check fabric; I would recommed the typical 'Fall' colours. With fall colours I mean: warm orange, brown, red, yellow and everything in between.

You can even try one in suede for a real statement piece.

On the collage you can see some of my personal favourites. So let me know in the comments below what’s your favourite and why exactly.

So are you a shirtdress follower or not? That’s my question…

Sincerely

H, a critical follower with a big heart for Fashion, Food and other Fantastic things
