Hi everyone! So it’s time for something new on the blog. As the fashion week is the heart of new trends and hypes it’s ideal for me to write some reports. So I am introducing my new topic today: Fashion week reports.

I am kicking this series off with the Mara Hofmann show. It found place on the 12th September in New York. When I went trough the pictures I felt a bit dreamy. The collection has this ‘groovy’ look to it, without being too nostalgic. And that’s a hard thing to do.

The first few looks had a cloud print, that immediately reminds me of the iconic Renée Magritte sky. It’s smart to start of with these looks, because it represents the theme for the rest of the collection perfectly.

Miss Mara got her head out of the clouds and designed several flower looks. The flowers are big and colourful, both in bright and pastel colours. It’s obvious that flowers will be a huge trend (again) and I really don’t mind. They remain one of my all-time favourite prints and never bore me. As a little twist she combines flowers with stripes. It’s hard to pull it off, but she masters it perfectly.

Skinny is nowhere to be seen in this collection. In fact the total opposite is happening; as palazzo pants, oversized shirts, maxi skirts and -dresses are THE big thing. They are starting to become, just as a LBD, wardrobe essentials.

Renée Margritte

The Mara Hoffman S/S 16 collection is dreamy, flowy and a bit hippie. Her main idea for the collection must have been: Comfort. I love the overall look and feel the whole collection has. So are you a Mara Hoffman follower or not? Let me know in the comments…

Sincerely

H, a critical follower with a big heart for Fashion, Food and other Fantastic things
