So since Milan Fashion week is taking place this moment I decided to take a look at one of the shows. I choose the Emporio Armani show as I am always amazed by their collections.

All photos are taken by Marco Tondo, for indigitalimages.com; I found the images on vogue.com

It’s hard to describe this collection in one word, even in one phrase. There’s so much going on, but in a good way. All of the pieces have an ‘upcoming-trend’ potential. The silhouettes are quite simple, but the combinations are bold.

One of the big surprises was the warm orange colour. It made me think of fall immediately, but I really love it! It’s warm and refreshing colour at the same time. I think we will see more orange next season!

Another thing that I really liked was the a-symmetrical part. A lot of the garments had either an A-symmetrical hem or two fabric pieces crossed over each other. The high-low dresses also seamed to make a revival.

Tule and sheer (layered) fabrics were the base for a lot of pieces in this collection. I like the soft colours and the way they worked with it.

Next to the ‘surprises’ there where also pieces like we had the last few seasons. Pastel blue and pink are once again huge, but combined with grey they are taken to the next level. Flowers are once again a trend that we can’t deny.

Over all I really liked the show, but it wasn’t what I expected. The usual navy blue was nowhere to be seen and pastel coloured tulle took the overhand. However, there are a lot of pieces that I would love to wear and I think I’m not the only one.
