TRENDmas #Day7: GOLD

The metallic fabrics/colours were huge in 2015, and since gold is one of them, I am going to talk about it today. Gold was this year not ‘only’ condemned to accessories, also skirts, dresses and shoes were dipped in gold.

I have to admit that I am not particularly fund of the all in gold trend. Shoes, skirts, dresses or pants in a metallic fabric aren’t my 2015 favourites. I just feel like it’s too much.

I do like gold as a subtle accent in your outfit. You can go for the classic way: with a watch, some bracelets/necklaces or a nice pair of earrings. Or you can add a touch to your clothes. Golden sequins are a great option. I love them combined with a ‘tomboyish’ sweatshirt. They make everything a bit more girly and elegant. This option for everyone who wants to to stand out, in a subtle way...

My main advise is: make sure it doesn’t look cheap. And that can happen quite easily with gold. If you go for shoes with a golden accent, you can add some golden accessoiries but keep in mind that less is again more. Also try to vary with the diffent types of gold: try rose, yellow or even white gold.
